Freight & Postage

LIVE INSECTS

Livefoods Unlimited ships live insects to every state in Australia. The cost of shipping is naturally dependent on a range of factors including; destination, size and quantity of insects and of course the method of shipping. The minimum quantity of any given size of each insect that can be ordered is 250, unless you are ordering Handy Packs. Consequently, the quantities ordered through this website are in batches of 250. The majority of live insect orders are sent by an express post service through Australia Post with the following options:

Smaller orders of live insects are dispatched in mailing tubes or small cartons (see Insect Shipping & Packaging), e.g. up to 250 medium crickets or cockroaches or 500 small crickets, cockroaches or giant mealworms, with a set rate of $12.49 Australia-wide including packaging, plus the cost of the insects ordered.

For larger orders of insects the cost of freight will obviously depend on the sizes and quantities ordered and the location to which they are sent to. To preview the cost of postage for your order, just add the desired products to your shopping cart until you have your complete order then go to the shopping cart page and click on the Estimate Shipping Cost tab on the lower left of the page. Enter your state and postcode and click on the Get Quotes tab and it will show you how much you will be charged for postage on your order.

Due to the volume of handy packs, these must be shipped in boxes and/or satchels so sometimes it works out cheaper to order the minimum bulk quantity of crickets or cockroaches (e.g. 250) and have them shipped in mailing tubes than it does to order the bulkier handy packs. Other options are possible, so if you have a special request please contact Livefoods Unlimited via our contact page with the details and we will attempt to come up with the most economical system for your request.

Orders just containing accessories or artificial plants are shipped by regular mail. If combination orders are placed containing both insects and accessories, we will endevour to send them by the most economical way possible. If the accessories are small and there is room in the insect box they will be sent together express post. However, if the insect box is full or the accessories ordered take up a lot of room, the insects will often be sent separately by express mail and the accessories by regular mail.
